Forest Camp DescriptionÂ
Mountain Roots is hosting Forest Camp July 7-11, 2026 (Tues-Fri) for ages 6-11 within Pisgah National Forest (near Brevard / Pisgah Forest, NC). Forest Camp runs from 9am-4pm with a central meeting space within Pisgah National Forest (tentatively the Fish Hatchery or one of the local to Brevard Group Camp sites-more info will be available by mid-January on the logistics).Â
Forest Camp is a nature-immersion experience for campers with a focus on wilderness skills, nature connection, and free play in the outdoors. We will still follow our Camp schedule for the most part--including Opening Circle, Small group activities, free play, Option periods, and more.Â
But Wait, There's More!
Forest Camp also provides a different adventure for each age group:
Poplars (approx age 6)--Family cook out dinner and "stay late" one evening
Cedars (approx age 7-8)--Overnight Family campout at Group Camp
Oaks (approx ages 9-11)--Overnight campout (without families) at Group Camp
Ramblers (ages 12-14)--Camping / Backpacking in Pisgah National Forest (this camp requires a different Registration and fee). Do not use this registration form for Ramblers Camp.
There will be a communication plan and inside back-up location in the event of Severe Weather.
Note: There is no Mountain Roots Preschool Camp this week.
